Blush best for NC25 Skin

I have a question for you all.

What color best suits us NC25 girls?

I have never used blush ever. When i went to MAC to do a makeover for a wedding, the makeup artist put blush on me and it made me look darker. Im sorry, but i dont like to be tanned or look tanned...i want to be as fair as i can be (cultural and personal preference).

I am pretty pale (being a yellow, nc25-er), as you can tell yourself, but i want to add some color to my face. I tried NARS Orgasam, and i wasnt feeling the coral thing and it was kinda bright. I was thinking like a muave tone...but someone told me i would look dark, because that is for medium/dark skin tones.

HELP!

My question to you:
  1. What color would look best on yellow, nc25 skin, that isnt too over the top...just subtle color?
  2. What blush and color do YOU use?
Comment away :)

L'Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle

Product: L'Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle
Shade: See below. Best match for NC25 is Nude beige (516).
Price: $12.00 - $17.00
My Thoughts:  It feels very smooth, but as soon as you put it on your skin, it feels as if nothing is on. I dont thing it covers that well either (i havent actually bought this yet, just tried the sample). If you rub it too much, it balls up like you erased something and the eraser curls up...thats how the foundation becomes if you rub your finger over it several times. I also cant image for this to be long wearing, due to its texture and being a "souffle." Also heard it oxides within an hour.  Pretty pricey for drugstore.

Wet N Wild Natural Blend Lip Shimmer

Product: Wet N Wild Natural Blend Lip Shimmer

Shade: 108 Cinnamo, 105 Maple

Price: I got it on sale for $1.19 (regular $1.99) from Rite Aid

My Thoughts:  Love the feeling, but hate this color. Going to exchange it for a neutral/nude/brown shade. This is way too bright for everyday wear...at least for me. This is a dupe for Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer ($5.00).

Wet N Wild Mega Plump Mascara

Product: Wet N Wild Mega Plump Mascara

Shade: Very Black

Price: I got it on sale for $2.39 (regular $3.99) from Rite Aid

My Thoughts:  I dont like this mascara. Its supposed to be a dupe for DiorShow and Covergirl Lash Blast, but it doesnt even come close. I have to put on about 4-5 coats of this thing for it to show a difference. Even then it looks like i dont have anything on my lashes. It doesnt really give length or volume.

It's also not even close to L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara For Lashes in Carbon Black. I love that thing and its pretty cheap ($5.00 - $6.00). Yet, about a month ago, i started noticing that my eyelashes were falling out. Maybe its because my mascara is old.

But anyway, dont buy this. I wouldnt buy it even if it was $1.00. Its not worth it when you dont see a difference. My lashes are already pretty long, volumeious and thick, but this sucked! The others (Dior, Covergirl and L'Oreal, just took them to another level!).

Im thinking about getting Revlon Grow Luscious in Blackest Black, which is supposed to be THE darkest black in drugstore mascara. I might also get, L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashesm but for some reason Im really leaning towards L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black.

Which one should i get?

Wet N Wild Ultimate Brow Kit

Product: Wet N Wild Ultimate Brow Kit

Shade: 963 Ash Brown (comes in one shade)

Price: I got it on sale for $2.39 (regular $3.99) from Rite Aid

My Thoughts:  I LOVE this! This is better than the Elf one i got. The color is phenomenal, yet still looks natural. It comes with a dark brown powder and a light brown powder. Depending on your eyebrow color, you can use one, or mix them together to get your shade. My eyebrows are black, so i used the dark brown and my goodness what a difference a little powder and wax does to your face! Its very natural, just make sure to not go overboard on the powder. Anything natural can look unnatural if you overdo it.

Stock up on this! Better than the high end brands.

It also comes with a brush to apply and small tweezers.

Wet N Wild Color Icon Lipliner Pencil

Product: Wet N Wild Natural Blend Pressed Powder

Shade: Willow 712

Price: I got it on sale for $0.59 (regular $0.99) from Rite Aid

My Thoughts:  I love this lipliner! Its a beautiful nude brown color. It is a perfect dupe for Sephora Nano Lip Liner in 02 Cute Caramel (Retails for $7.00, but is very small...about 3 inches).

It goes beautifully with my Wet N Wild Silk Finish Lipstick in 549A.

Wet N Wild Natural Blend Pressed Powder

Product: Wet N Wild Natural Blend Pressed Powder

Shade: Buff

Price: I got it on sale for $2.99 (regular $4.99) from Rite Aid.

Coverage: Sheer to light

My thoughts:  Okay, So i was really excited that i found a powder that might be a dupe for Mac StudioFix Pressed Powder...but, this is not even close.

The color, there is a tiny bit of pink in it, which isnt really evident in the picture (my apologies). That is a no no for me. I am yellow...I need yellow, not yellow and dash of pink. I still thought i would try it. I put it on with a brush and it was soo messy! the powder got everywhere! Still, i was like its okay, ill be more careful. When i put it on, i already had concealer on a  few spots...nothing major.

Now, keep in mind that the brush i use is made to deliver a full coverage finish, meaning it picks up a lot of product (ELF Studio Powder Brush - a flat top brush). It took about 6-8 times of me getting product (a lot of it) and brushing it on my face...6-8 times for ONE side of my face! This has VERY sheer coverage..maybe light coverage, but not even close to medium or full.

I still thought, its okay. Its still way cheaper than Mac so i will still be saving money by using 6-8 brush strokes (1 brush stroke = brush it in product, pick up a lot of product and brush on one side of face). When i looked in the mirror, i was disappointed; my neck was yellow and my face was a little darker with a red/pink tinge to it. DAMN IT! I returned it! I felt so good about about this too.

Now I am out of StudioFix and refuse to pay $30 for powder and looking for something that comes close! HELP me guys!

Wet N Wild Silk Finish Lipstick

Product: Wet 'N Wild Silk Finish Lipstick

Shade: 549A

Price: I got it on sale for $0.59 (regular $0.99) from Rite Aid.

Long lasting: It lasts normal. You have to reapply if you eat or drink something, just like any other lipstick. But if you don't, it lasts for a few hours (3-4).

My thoughts: I LOVE this lipstick. It definitely has a beautiful satiny finish but nothing tacky or shiny like lip gloss. Its just perfect. The shade is gorgeous! One of the best nude brown shades I own.

mark Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation

Product: mark Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation

Price: $12.00

Shade: Buff

Coverage: Medium to Full

My thoughts: This is yet another "dupe" for MAC Studiofix Powder Foundation.

mark makeup is deigined for all undertones, in that there arent shades specific for yellow or pink undertones. Here is what i mean. When i called mark's hotline and asked them which shades are yellow undertoned, she said anyone can use any shade and it will work. They only have to dertermine how light or dark they are.

So if a shade is light enough, but seems pink, yet you are yellow, accoridng to mark, you can still buy that and it will work.

My verdict? Not the case!

This shade looks yellow, but it DOES have pink in it, slightly. I tired very hard to get you a true representation of the shades AND to try and show the pink in the mark.

I put on my face and i look orangey/reddish, regardless of the amount. I thought it was light, but no...it was mark.

It would have been a perfect match if the shade was actually made for yellow undertones and not...no undertones or any undertones (I am still questioning that concept and trying to figure out how exactly that would work).

Coverage is great though!

mark also doesnt settle into my laugh lines as does Mac.

Thank you!

E.L.F Pressed Powder

Product: E.L.F Pressed Powder

Price: $3.00

Shade: Sand

Coverage: Medium to Full

My thoughts: This is supposed to be a dupe for MAC Studiofix Powder Foundation. Thank God right? It does have the medium to full coverage like MAC's, but you might have to use a little bit more product.

The thing is the most weird is that Sand, is the second to the light shade, right after Porcelain. When i bought it, i was excited to see it i had a good dose of yellow in there...but, looks can be deceiving. Sand is NOT yellow based...it is actually pink based. So, in MAC lingo it is for light skinned NW girls, rather than NC girls. In non-MAC lingo, it is made for cool tones NOT warm tones.

I tried very hard to try and capture the pinkish tone in the powder. It is slightly visible. Sorry i couldn't get a better picture. I tried 20 times with different light settings and this was the best.

I didn't notice it was pink undertoned, until i put it on and when i looked in the mirror, my face was darker and had a redness to it than my neck. I thought it was just the lighting, until my mom also made a note of it. When i swatched it, it was immediately noticeable. Sometimes you can't notice the true shade when its in the container or already applied, until you just make a simple swatch.

I did research and for us NC25 girls, porcelain is the best choice, which is on order. Ill do a review once it comes.

Thank you!
