Foundation update, MLBB, setting powder.

Hello Everyone!

I know I haven't posted for 2 years, but I will do my best to come on here more often.

As you may or may not have known,I was incorrectly told I had yellow undertones; I am actually olive...Light olive to be exact.

Most people think that if you are olive you are automatically Mediterranean and Medium-dark. That's not the case. You can olive an olive undertones and be light, medium, dark and everything in between. Olive is the UNDERTONE, NOT your SKINTONE.

I still religiously use MAC StudioFIX Powder Foundation in C30. That is my all time favorite and best match. They do NOT have C30 in a liquid, which stinks. I have tried their C4.5, C4 and they are pink and too dark. We will see. I have heard many good things about BECCA Cosmetics but not sure if their shade range is wide enough and Olive friendly enough :)

I have also bought EX1 Cosmetics Liquid foundation in 200. Its a good match, but its not as much coverage (medium, buildable) and I feel like it just sits on my skin and can easily come off. Maybe that is my perception, I dont know.

On a side note, these products below are sooo good, I have to mention them.

  • Ulta Lipstick in Sugar & Spice 229 - $8, but usually its on sale for 50% off. I LOOOOOVE this lipstick. Its the perfect MLBB shade. Has good staying power, creamy formula.

  • Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color in  Nude Nuance - $5.50. Another really good MLBB lipstick. Has good staying power. Very pigmented, matte, formula.
  • Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder - $3.99. This powder is my HG. It works so well, keeps my makeup on and my face matte for hours. Very good quality. Its basically your HD powder, but in a compact so its not messy! I loooove this.
Write your comments below :)

And as always, Thank you for the support!

Sorry

Sorry for the lack of posts everyone.

Been really busy with work and life.

I hope everyone had a good holiday.

So, I found I am actually olive toned and NOT yellow.

I have a tinge of green in me, which is why it is next to impossible to find a shade that matches me well.No drugstore carries foundation for olive skin tone (if you know of any, please comment below. i would LOVE to know). Also, the Sephora lady literally went through the entire store to match me with something, anything....no luck. Therefore, nothing in Sephora matches me, because again, no olive skin tone is carried.

However, I found the perfect foundation that matches!!!
Joppa Minerals in Light #3, Full Coverage. Its actually full coverage and not a gimmick. I don't even need to use concealer.

Anyway, comment below and give me your thoughts on what you want to see in 2013.

*Note* I'm going to change the security for commenting, because I have been getting a lot of spam.Sorry folks. Thanks again for visiting :)

Smashbox Dupe: Smashbox Photo Finish Blend Color Correcting Foundation Primer

This is heaven!

Works exactly like Smashbox Photo Finish Blend Color Correcting Foundation Primer, but instead of paying $38 for it, I paid only $1 at my own local Dollar Store (note: NOT Dollar Tree).

I use this in place of my regular, clear primer.

Order: wash face, moisturize, sunscreen, primer.

Because of this, I use about half as much foundation than I use with a clear primer. The peach color corrects any marks such as acne marks, hyperpigmentation, etc.

And...my makeup stays on longer!

Check it out!

Joppa Minerals: HG! Must Read!

FINALLY!

I found a foundation that provides me with:
- full coverage
- matches my very hard to match skintone (light olive)
-good price
-great quality
-has very good staying power
-doesnt oxidize

I LOVE THIS foundation. I searched high and low for something, anything to match my light-olive skin tone. After all this searching, i have come to notice that there are very very few foundations out there and brands that make foundations for olive skin tones. Everything i tried, was either, pink, too light, too yellow or too dark.

I found out about everyday minerals. I loved it because it matched me perfect (shade: light olive), but it hardly stayed and the coverage was light to medium at best. They changed their formula and i hate it. Gave me cystic acne WHILE i was medication for it.

Joppa Minerals is amazing!!! I have several post acne scars/marks on my cheek. I got the sample of the shade Light #3 in full coverage formula and its covers them all up without using concealer! i was ecstatic! Oh yea, i am very makeup illiterate. I dont know how to blend and do the fancy stuff like contouring. SO i needed something quick and fool-proof. This is it ladies! I use my everyday minerals Flat Top Brush to apply my Joppa Minerals and finish it off with e.l.f. Studio High Definition Powder and spray it with e.l.f. Studio Makeup Mist & Set. It lasts OVER 8 hours. Wonderful!!!!

EDM: Light Olive not in MATTE!

I am sure you guys all read my rave reviews on my perfect foundation EDM: Light Olive in Semi-Matte.

My complaint was that it didnt cover as much as a matte would.

Well guess what? Now, you can get it in matte!!!

BeneFit They're Real Mascara DUPE

Hello everyone,

So sorry for lack of updates and reviews. I have been very busy and havent gotten any time, but I promise I will try my absolute best and post more often. Thank you for being so patient and supportive!

Here is what you have been waiting for....

ProductBeneFit They're Real
Shade: Black
Price: $22
Description as stated on website:

What it is: A jet-black mascara that lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts, and separates lashes for a spectacular "out-to-here" look.

What it does: This mascara features an exclusive brush specially designed to maximize the performance of the long-wearing, glossy formula revealing lashes you never knew you had! Staggered bristles grab close to the root, boosting length and volume beyond belief. The precision bristles on the custom-domed tip lift, define, and curl even your tiniest lashes. The end result is luxurious, silky lashes that won't smudge, clump, or dry out.

My thoughts: This mascara does everything!! It lengthens, curls, separates and volumizes all in one. Its suuper black which I love. Doesn't flake or smudge. But...i dont like the price.

HERE IS THE DUPE!

ProductRevlon PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara
Shade: Blackest BlackPrice: $6-10 depending on store and areaCompared to Original: This mascara is a very very good dupe for BeneFit They're Real. The only thing is, it might take a little longer to achieve the same results. What I mean by that is that one coat of BeneFit They're Real is equal to about 3 coats of Revlon PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara. Who cares! Its cheap and it does, i think a better job than the original at getting your lashes volumized, separated, lengthened and curled. Try it now!
